Polish Deaf Association Lodz Department has been operating since 1946 and has over 800 members (deaf and hard of hearing). Polish Deaf Association Lodz Department supports members and their families in the areas of social assistance, seeking employment, legal and psychological assistance as well as in the field of interpreting. Polish Deaf Association Lodz Department is doing advocacy activities to pursue human rights for the deaf and hard of hearing (including the right to language and education) and to provide access to information and services. Polish Deaf Association Lodz Department implements projects related to the education of deaf people: Towards bilingual education of deaf children in Poland (2015-2016), Deaf education (2015-2018), Deaf language awareness (2018-2021).
