Section for Sign Linguistics, Faculty of Polish Studies of the University of Warsaw is the only scientific unit in Poland dealing with the analysis of Polish Sign Language. From 2010, a team led by Paweł Rutkowski researches visuospatial communication from the perspective of general and comparative linguistics. The Section has carried out many research projects (financed by the Foundation for Polish Science, the National Science Center, the National Humanities Development Program, and the European Commission as part of the COST program). The Section team also gathered the first-ever Polish Sign Language corps.
